The benefit of better sleep.

Claire and I decided to get a new bed and mattress for our bedroom, as the last one was very old and much overdue being replaced. So after some research and seeing what was on offer, we plumbed for a memory foam mattress.

Well what a revelation to my sleep, and if you remember from the previous sleep post in August, I was having a lot of problems. A link to remind you below.

MPL – The one thing, that’s so hard to come by sleep

However, a few things have changed, but is it just the mattress?? Firstly, we finally moved back into our house, after nearly nine months, as a flood severely damaged it. I am also still exercising too, so I’m healthier. So is it now less stress, health, or is it the mattress, or all of them?

I now fall to sleep much quicker and it’s of a much better quality. It’s probably about 5 hours per night, for the majority of week now. Claire has also commentated that due to the more solid nature of the foam and how it shapes around the body, there is less transference of my wobbles/tremor. So good for her and for me!

It appears I’m much more settled through the night, mostly, but the fortunate thing is (and touch wood), I also haven’t had any cramps during the night for some time either.

Now don’t get me wrong, there is and I suspect, will always be, bad nights and that won’t ever change, but from the previous sleeping debacle, I’ll take as a win! I do hope it continues and if it is the memory foam, then so be it, but its not exactly scientific evidence either is it!?
